Miners Foundry Gets Second Dance Grant

For the second year in a row, the Miners Foundry Cultural Center has received a $10,800 grant toward funding their 2nd Annual Nevada City Dance Festival. Center Executive Director Gretchen Bond says the money, from the California Arts Council, will allow them to continue to expand the event. The five companies that will be hosted next year are: dawsondances, the Lake Tahoe Dance Collective, the Linda Blair Dance Company, Pisa Za Congo Dance Company, and Airaligned aerial dance group. Bond says it’s also hoped that the festival can expand to other venues in the future, to make it to a more city-wide event.
