Miners Host Basketball Team from New Zealand

A mixture of basketball and culture at Nevada Union High School. The boys basketball team began their annual Nevada Union Invitational Tournament this afternoon (Thursday) against a team from New Zealand. That team traveled across the Pacific and played a few games in the Bay Area before coming to Nevada County. The name of the school is ‘St. John’s College’, but it is a five-year high school–grades 9 through 13, with thirteenth grade being an equivalent to our twelfth grade. His team will play three games in the tournament, before going to Gilroy for a tournament and then going back home. Nevada Union won the game against St. John’s 51-37.
