The Rocklin hiker and his dog who had been missing since Sunday have been found alive and safe. Placer County Sheriff’s Department Public Information Officer Dena Erwin says 23 year-old Michael Cody and his German Shepard Bauer were spotted by a helicopter around 10:15 this morning…
He was also able to make it out to a clearing in dense forest, and that’s where the helicopter pilot spotted him. The two were hoisted to safety, and turned out to be in pretty good shape…
Michael had been missing since Sunday. His vehicle was still parked near the Loch Leven Trail. He had texted his family that day that he would be home by noon Monday, but never showed. Erwin says searches don’t usually have a happy ending like this…
A post on the Sheriff’s Department Facebook page features a picture of the two after the rescue, and a thank you to all those who participated in the search.
