Thanks to another successful lobbying effort by some 30 rural counties, including Nevada County, funding for a program that mitigates the impact to governments and schools from the loss of certain property taxes has been approved again by Congress. Supervisor Nate Beason, who has been Nevada County’s representative with the Rural County Representatives of California, says it’ll add another 260 to 270-thousand dollars to the county’s general fund..
