Almost 100 pounds of marijuana confiscated during two traffic stops in Truckee. According to CHP Officer Michael McDonnell, the first stop was because of excessive speed and maintaining lanes on eastbound I80.

At that point the two occupants from Tulsa,Oklahoma were asked to get out of the vehicle and the Truckee PD Drug Dog, TRAX, alerted on another part of the vehicle. A probable cause search found a variety of different types of processed marijuana including several types of edibles. Evidence of at least two false compartments was also located.

Almost 84 pounds of processed marijuana was retrieved from the hidden compartments.
In a separate stop, a Minnesota resident was arrested for marijuana transport following a a speeding violation, and the drug dog was called. Eleven pounds of packaged marijuana was located in black bag in the vehicle.
Close to 1000 pounds of marijuana have been confiscated during multiple traffic stops in the Truckee area over the past several months.
