Morning Gunfire Is Police Training

The sounds of early morning gunfire had some residents in Grass Valley concerned Thursday morning. Grass Valley Police Sgt Joe Matteoni explains the shooting was at the Grass Valley Police Shooting Range on Allison Ranch Road.

Though most of the activities at the range are scheduled, there are times when the range is used for other training requirements.

The department does not use the range on specific days and attempts to schedule range activities during daytime hours to alleviate noise concerns.
