Mothers Day at Empire Mine State Historic Park

If you’re looking for something fun to do with mom and the kids on Mothers Day, Empire Mine State Historic Park is putting on a Special event Sunday. The will have Food and drinks for sale by local vendors, tea and cookies served in the garden and, Docents in period costume will be in all the mine buildings and the Bourne Cottage where the mine owner and his family lived…and the black smiths will also be making free prairie diamond rings for the ladies. What’s that you say?

Park Volunteer bob Jennings saysthe Blacksmiths use actual horse shoe nails to craft the rings to your finger size. Mothers Day Springtime Event a Empire Nime State Historic Park has grown to be a very popular event, Jennings says maybe even more so this year.
