Motorcycle Chase in Western County Ends With Injuries

A motorcycle chase near the Yuba County line ends with a rider injured and transported to a trauma center. CHP Officer Greg Tassone says the incident began around 11:30AM Wednesday as the officer was returning to Grass Valley on Highway 20.

The officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the rider accelerated away and a pursuit ensued… The rider speeding down Melody Road to Big Oak drive reaching speeds in excess of 65 MPH.

At that point the rider tried to flee on foot but was caught a short distance later when he collapsed due to his injuries.

Charlesworth,-Duke1The suspect, 48 year old Duke Charlesworth, was charged with felony and misdemeanor reckless evading of a peace officer, resisting arrest, driving on a suspended license and the warrant from Yuba County.
