Motorcycle Accidents Increase with Warm Weather

Three separate motorcycle accidents occurred on Highway 49 over the weekend. CHP Public Information Officer Dina Hernandez says with the warm weather a large number of motorcycles were on local roadways. Officer Hernandez says in one accident the rider lost control of his Harley Davidson near Jim Crow Road on Saturday morning. He was taken to Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital for treatment.  Another accident occurred Sunday afternoon near Yuba Pass Road. Officer Hernandez says a 59 year old Reno man for unknown reasons laid his motorcycle on it side on the highway. The man’s hand was pulverized when it became trapped between the motorcycle and the road.

A second accident reported Sunday morning was close to the Yuba County line when a 46 year old man from Olivehurst lost control of his motorcycle. Because of his injures he was flown to Sutter Roseville Hospital for treatment. Officer Hernandez says each of the accidents involved speed.
