UPDATE: Multi-Vehicle Accident on 49 at Carriage Rd

Traffic congestion on Highway 49 at Carriage road, but both lanes of highway 49 reported open again. A multi-vehicle accident with at least one vehicle off the road and down an embankment. CHP Officer Greg Tassone says traffic could still be backed up in both directions.

At least one major injury requiring the driver of a blue Mustang to be airlifted to Sutter Roseville Trauma Center.
Officer Tassone asks anyone approaching the area to proceed with caution.
