Multiple small fires on Yuba Nevada Co. line

High winds are hampering firefighters’ efforts to contain multiple vegetation fires on the Yuba/Nevada county line.
Dry, northerly winds are driving both the Collins and the Hammonton fire.
Resources from local, state and federal agencies are on scene of the incidents. No road closures or evacuations to report at this time.
Air resources from neighboring units and the Tahoe National Forest are on scene. The tankers normally stationed at the Grass Valley Air base are slated to arrive later this month.

June 9, 2012 at 6:37  PM – Powerlines are down on Cougar Court, across of Buck Ridge in Grass Valley. Sparks have ignited a small vegetation fire.
June 9, 2012 at 7:10  PM – The Cougar Court incident has been contained at 1 acre.
