The next hearing date for two defendants in a murder case is set for late January. Scott Hollingshead and Christopher Nix charged with the brutal murder of Brian Spaulding in front of his Banner Mountain residence in April were both in court this (Tuesday) morning for a pre-trial hearing. The purpose of the hearing was to set the January 30 date. As a result of setting the January date, Deputy District Attorney Jennifer Ow also requested a briefing schedule be set or a date for the filing of all motions. Hollingshead’s defense attorney, Stephen Munkelt, tells KNCO that he and council for co-defendant Nix, Michael Phillips, will be jointly filing motions several motions.

These types of motions are not uncommon in a case such as this.
