Police Lieutenant Victor Pecoraro says that altercation happened around 2:30 yesterday afternoon. He says while officers were looking for 53 year-old Nick Ricketts, medical personnel were attending to the 77 year-old male victim…

Ricketts was found a short time later near Auburn Ravine Road and Elm Avenue, arrested, and booked into the Placer County Jail on homicide charges. Pecoraro says the case is still under investigation, and additional charges could be added later. Ricketts was described as a transient living in Auburn, and reportedly knew the victim.
