New research is pointing out how to keep our brains sharper for longer. It’s been established that the human brain has a limited amount of power to tackle difficult tasks. The brain needs down time to allow a rebuilding of sorts. The best thing to do? Sudoku? Crosswords? Word Search? Nope! Watch TV.
Reruns to be specific. New shows don’t have the same therapeutic effect. The shows have to be something familiar. According to scientists watching old reruns is like allowing your brain to slip into an old pair of sweatpants. Which is also what most people watching old reruns of “Hogan’s Hero’s” or “Leave It To Beaver” are wearing. My personal favorite old show to rewatch – “Andy Griffith”, gotta love that Andy!
My whole weekend agenda has just changed . . . . . . .
