Did you know there was a study called “The National Foot Health Assessment”? I had no idea! But now my feet feel better because someone out there cares. And someone (The Institute for Preventative Foot Health) wants my feet to feel better! I have no idea where this group gets it’s money, or what their deeper agenda may be, but my feet feel so much better knowing that someone cares.
For a long time my feet have hurt. It may be because of the extra few pounds they support (that’s a whole separate blog – – – or is it a “blob”?) It may be the fact I stood up doing a morning radio show for many years. It may be because my shoes weren’t fit correctly. Or badly aligned feet that needed inserts for my shoes. All I know is my feet are now happy because someone is studying them.
According to this study my feet aren’t alone, 78 percent of adults have experienced foot problems one or more times in their life.
The study also points the blame at one small thing we can all change. Flip Flops. Yes, Flip Flops. According to this study, that thin little slab of rubber isn’t very supportive and offers no structural support.
The good news is now that summer is over, the Flip Flop will shortly be banned to back of the closet. Unless you are lucky enough to take a trip to a warm sandy beach during the winter.
The Flip Flop, the cause of all that pain.
And here I thought the worst thing the Flip Flop ever did, was blow out. Resulting in a cut heal, and a cruise back home . . . . . . . .
