A traffic stop on a narcotics suspect Sunday night resulted in three people going to jail. Nevada County Sheriff’s Lt. Bill Smethers says the arrest was made by the Nevada County Narcotics Task Force.
When the vehicle was stopped, the driver was identified as Kevin
Leahy, 30, who was on probation in Nevada County with search terms. Lt. Smethers says a search of the vehicle uncovered 73 grams of methamphetamine, 14 dilauded pills, scales, and Mr. Leahy also had a methamphetamine pipe and a small baggy of methamphetamine in his pocket.
Two other people in the car, 43 year-old
Ernest Prendez and 28 year-old Kimberly Lumpkins, were also taken into custody on felony, no-bail warrants for their arrest.
