National Hotel May Soon Have New Owner

After years of efforts, the National Hotel in Nevada City may soon have a new owner. It’s been sold to an unnamed Limited Liability Company and is now in escrow, according to the general manager of the Northern Queen Inn. Hamid Kazemi says if escrow closes, he’d be the project manager for rennovating the hotel, which is over 155 years old, as well as the new general manager. Strawser says the goal has always been to find a buyer who truly respects the city and the history of the hotel. It’s touted as the oldest, continuously operating hotel west of the Rockies.
