National Night Out in Grass Valley

The National Night Out event for Grass Valley is going to be in Memorial Park Tuesday evening August 2nd according to Grass Valley Police Chief Alex Gammelgard.

National Night Out is always the first Tuesday in August and it has grown to a nation-wide event. Grass Valley Police Sgt. Dan Kimbrough says last year the color run they did with the kids was so popular they are doing it again.

In the color run children wear white tee shirts and run through stations were volunteers will spray them with all different colors of a biodegradable paint powder.. Sgt. Kimbrough says there will also be free hotdogs and drinks for everyone thanks to SPD and Bill’s Chuck wagon.

Nevada City Police Department will also be holding  their own National Night Out Celebration on Broad Street in Nevada City Tuesday night from 6 to 8 p.m.
