NC Elks Law Enforcement Appreciation Dinner Well Attended

The Nevada County Elks Lodge hosts a Law Enforcement Appreciation Dinner each year to honor all active and retired officers . Elks House Committee Member Janis Woolsey says it’s something they do to thank the officers.

It was about 174 officers participating and there were some who also helped out in the kitchen. Many local law enforcement departments use the evening as a time to make special presentations and awards and Woolsey says this year was no exception.

Nevada County sheriff’s Office Sergeant Mike Walsh was recognized as officer of the year…and Narcotics Detective Evan Bulter received Grass Valley Police Employee of the Year…

Awards were also given to Steve Sinclair for Probation Officer of the Year.. and Stacy Johnston -Casey won the Juvenile Hall employee of the year award.
