The Nevada County Elks Lodge hosts a Law Enforcement Appreciation Dinner each year to honor all active and retired officers . Elks House Committee Member Janis Woolsey says it’s something they do to thank the officers.
It was about 174 officers participating and there were some who also helped out in the kitchen. Many local law enforcement departments use the evening as a time to make special presentations and awards and Woolsey says this year was no exception.
