NCCFD Board Chair Explains Pulling Out of NC

Nevada County Consolidated Fire Board Chair Warren Knox is trying to shed more light on the Board’s decision to remove three Consolidated Firefighters that are currently staffing   Nevada City Fire Station 54 on Providence Mine Road. Knox says it comes down to dollars and cents.

Knox says he actually voted against removing the consolidated firefighters from Nevada City, but his issue was not giving notice as to what they were going to do.

Knox says he would also like to set the record straight that Consolidated is not planning an eventual take over of other fire districts they work with.

Knox says it does not make sense for Nevada County Consolidated to provide firefighters to make Nevada City response times shorter when the Consolidated District residents they serve are seeing longer response times.
