NCCFD Finance Committee Reviews Budget

The Finance Committee of the Nevada County Consolidated Fire District is meeting today to receive a preliminary Budget Review for the fiscal year 2014-15.  Temporary Finance Manager, Jeff Van Groningen, will outline the figures, but Board Chair Warren Knox says it doesn’t appear that the district will be gaining any revenue.

Knox says they will assume there has been no improvement in Consolidated’s funds and  will be looking at a lean budget going forward. Last year the budget was about  $5.1 million.    Knox says the two tax initiatives that voters approved to support the fire district do have a cost of living adjustment that hasn’t been used yet.

The Nevada County Consolidated Fire District Budget Committee will draft a budget for the coming fiscal year that will then go to the full board for discussion and  approval.
