NCHS Speaker Night Features Nisenan Basket Making

The Nevada County Historical Society Speaker Night presentation Thursday night   (Oct.18)   will feature Tanky Nisenan Maidu,  April Moore, talking  about  Nisenan basket making and share some of the baskets from her collection, including ones made by her great grandmother Lizzie Enos who was born in 1880.

Moore says the basket weaving pattern is unique to each basket maker and is considered a signature by the Nisenan.
The Nevada County Historical Society Speaker Night presentation will be Thursday evening October 18th at the Madelyn Helling Library Community Room at 7pm.  The event is free and open to the public.
