The next to last seminar in the Nevada County Resource Conservation District’s Fall 2014/Spring 2015 Seminar Series. will be Pond Management. This seminar is scheduled for Tuesday, June 30th, 2015 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Our speaker will be Jason Jackson.
Jason retired after a career of 37 years with the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture’s \Natural Resources Conservation Service, and started working as a consultant for the Nevada County Resource Conservation District in January of 2014 and will be talking about the many different challenges people here in Nevada County face with their ponds and what they can do to mitigate those challenges. Aquatic plants, weeds, and algae, as well as sunlight, water source, and wildlife all play a crucial role in the health of your pond. Seminar will address: how to inspect your dam, pond leakage, getting rid of invasive weeds, providing habitat for fish and other aquatic species, aeration, and general pond maintenance.
Registration is required as there is a limit to how many people this site can accommodate. Attendees will be given the name and address of the venue when they register.
