NCTV Looking for Funding Alternatives

It looks like community access television is taking a hit as a result of insufficient funding. The Board of Directors of Nevada County Television (NCTV) made a tough decision to shut the doors at the Digital Media Center on Providence Mine Road some time this fall. Volunteer Executive Director Lew Stitzer says that the nobody wants to see the service go away.

Stitzer says the station provides Public, Education, and Government access and each area generates some revenue. The government access portion provides roughly 30,000 per year.

Other groups are interested in taking over NCTV operations- but that doesn’t necessarily address funding issues.
