Near Drowning at South Yuba River Emerald Pool

An emergency call of a near drowning in the South Yuba River Emerald Pool area off of Bowman Lake Road came in to CalFire Sunday afternoon around 2:45p.m. Captain John Hotchkiss says the patient had been pulled out of the water but was in a very remote location hard to access. Units from the Truckee area were first responders.

The Cal Fire Helicopter was used to hoist the teenaged victim from the river bank and take him to a care flight helicopter that was waiting on Highway 20, and the patient was flown to Renown Medical center in Reno. His condition and name are unknown at this time.
