Council to Discuss Dispensary Ordinance Tonight

A medical marijuana dispensary in Nevada City could become legal before the night is over. The City Council meets tonight to consider an ordinance that would allow dispensaries in certain areas. Council member David Parker says it’s a lengthy ordinance with lots of restrictions….

If passed, someone would still have to come in to operate the dispensary, and that’s not guaranteed. Parker stresses that the dispensary would be for medical pot. Recreational sales don’t become legal until next year…

Public comment on both sides will be taken and a vote is likely, making tonight’s meeting probably a lengthy one. The meeting starts at 6:30 at City Hall.
