Tomorrow morning, Gourmet Gravel Nevada City will open the festivities with a ride though some of the dirt roads east of Nevada City. In the evening, there will be a first-ever spring * up * Broad Street, with heats of just four riders at a time. This is the 57th annual Nevada City Classic, and as organizers like to say, the event is older than Father’s Day itself. The first proclamation honoring fathers was made by President Lyndon Johnson in 1966.
