The Nevada City Elks Lodge was filled with very grateful Veterans receiving a well prepared turkey dinner Saturday Night as the Elks put on their annual Veteran’s Appreciation Dinner. Veteran’s Committee Chairman for the Nevada City Elks, Steve Woolsey says it was a lot of work, and they had close to 360 people show up.

Everyone at the dinner seemed to be very appreciative and enjoying the food , and there was a lot of connecting between veterans.

There were a lot of volunteers working in the kitchen and the Nevada County Blue Star Mom’s Chapter volunteered to serve and clear tables.

The Veterans appreciation Dinner is one of the charter events for the Elks. Woolsey says for the past 150 years, Elks Lodges across the country have been honoring veterans.
