Nevada City Film Fest Winter Comedy Show Returns

By Ashlyn Rhdoes

The Winter Comedy Show is an annual, one-night only event put on by the Nevada City Film Festival.  The show features live performances from stand-up comedians and a collection of short comedy films curated by Doug Lussenhop, who works for Cartoon Network’s late-night comedy program Adult Swim.  This year’s performers are Nick Thune, Sara Schaefer, and headliner Tig Notaro, who has been called one of the 50 funniest people alive by the Rolling Stone.  Nevada City Film Festival director Jesse Locks says the comedy show helps to fill an entertainment void in Nevada County.
