Nevada City Man Arrested For Setting Trail Fires

A Nevada City man is facing a felony arson charge, for allegedly setting several vegetation fires along a trail between Pioneer Park and the Stone House Restaurant. Police Chief Tim Foley says it started Monday afternoon at the park….

Foley says, based on witness statements, they got a description of the man. He says 30-year-old Justin Owsley was arrested in the downtown area. He says officers determined that Owsely was in possession of matches. The fires were contained to a small amount of vegetation. But Foley says they still posed a significant threat, because it’s so dry this time of year…

Owsley was also arrested on one misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct and being under the influence.
