It’s Mardi Gras time in Nevada City this weekend. A couple of thousand spectators are expected to come out for the parade and street faire, put on by the Nevada City Chamber of Commerce. Chamber Executive Director Cathy Whittlesey says they have about 30 entries in the parade, which is about the normal number…
Whittlesey says you’ll definitely see a lot of people dressed up for the occasion…
This year’s Grand Marshal is local artist and city councilmember David Parker. The parade steps off down Broad Street at 2pm. The street faire is from 11am to 4pm on North Pine and Commercial streets. There will be plenty of items for sale, including food and drink. Whittlesey says there is no Mardi Gras ball the night before the parade this year. There will be one next weekend, hosted by the Miners Foundry.
