Nevada City to Decide Second Air B-and-B Petition

The issue of people renting out rooms of their homes to overnight guests continues in Nevada City. At the last City Council meeting, the council approved a measure allowing what are called air b-and-b’s. A citizens petition was verified and adopted, but now, another petition with more stringent regulations has also gathered enough signatures. City Manager Mark Prestwich says the council has to consider this one the same way they considered the other one last month…

This one would require off street parking. Both would limit the number of overnight units to two. If this one goes to the voters and is approved, it would replace the measure adopted last month. If the council votes to approve this one, it would replace the one adopted last time. Tonight’s meeting is at 6:30 at City Hall.
