Nevada City To Install Water Bottle Refill Station in Pioneer Park

People visiting Pioneer Park will soon be able to conveniently refill water bottles thanks to the Annual Soap Box Derby Committee.
Last night the City Council approved the installation of two water bottle refill stations in the Park. During public comment on the proposal, City Clerk, Neil LockeĀ  jokingly said that he tried hard to find a reason not go forward with the installations. Instead he found an incredible environmental statistic.

According to Parks and Recreation Supervisor, Dawn Zydonis the project shouldn’t be too expensive or work intensive.

Zydonis wants at least one station installed before the Soap Box Derby on June 21 but would like to have them in before Little League starts which is right around the corner.
The Soap Box Derby also provided funding for the bocci ball courts near the picnic area at Pioneer Park.
