Nevada City to Proceed With Dispensary Idea

Nevada City is going ahead with the idea of a medical marijuana dispensary inside the city limits. Many people spoke during the public comment period at the City Council meeting last night–all in favor. The Council voted unanimously to go forward with the idea. A draft ordinance would be sent to the Planning Commission where it could be crafted further, along with more hearings and input from the community. If ultimately approved, the dispensary would be for medical marijuana only, regardless of what happens with a recreational pot measure on the November ballot.
