With last week’s announcement that Nevada City’s city manager is leaving, the City Council and other staff now have to figure out what they are going to do to replace him. Mark Prestwich has resigned to become the City Manager of Saint Helena in Napa County, and will leave at the end of the month. Vice Mayor Duane Strawser says they’ll be looking to Prestwich for help as much as they can…
There are other decisions to be made, including who immediately runs the city after Prestwich’s departure. The assistant city manager is one option…
Stawser also floated the idea of just having a part time city manager after Prestwich leaves. The issue will be discussed among staff, and at future city council meetings.
