Nevada City Woman Arrested for Embezzling from Local Non-Profit

A Nevada City woman was arrested yesterday on charges of  embezzling up to  $6,000 from Sierra Nevada Children’s Services less than 2 months after  she was hired to handle  accounts payable finances  for the agency.   Grass Valley Police Sgt. Steve Johnson says Sierra Nevada Children’s Services  called Grass Valley Police on January 22nd to report  they suspected an employee, 48 year old Robin Gauldin, had been embezzling money from the organization. With police present,  Gauldin was fired that day and Grass Valley Police Sgt. Steve Johnson says they immediately  began an investigation .

Fourneir says the agency is a group of good people and it’s traumatic to go through this with an employee they had gotten to know and like.Sgt. Johnson says  Charges against Gauldin include felony embezzlement, forgery, fraudulent use of a credit card and grand theft.  Gauldin has met bail and is out of jail following her arrest yesterday.
