Jones had superficial wounds to the stomach and arm, after McCary fired three shots. During a preliminary hearing, Jones testified that McCary ran for a gun and threatened to kill her, after there was an argument involving an ongoing property dispute. McCary’s mental health was also questioned at times, and she had a psychiatric examination. She did not have a criminal history.
