Two grant funding opportunities are available for non-profit organizations that provide services that address Poverty and Crime; Housing and Homeless; Unemployment and Education Attainment; or Nutrition and Health in Nevada County. Interim Director of Social Services, Mike Kent, says the smaller grant program has15,000 dollars available which could be divided up among several applicants.

The money comes from the county general fund and is meant to help an organization reach its goals- not fund staff or ongoing costs.
The second grant is the Community Development Block Grant Program.

Current recipients of the Block Grant include: Hospitality House, Child Advocates of Nevada County, and Victor Community Support Services.
