Nevada County Ag Tour Happening

Now in its 100th year, the Nevada County Farm Bureau’s annual Agriculture Tour is going on all day today. Farm Bureau Manager Debbie Totoonchie says tickets sold out this year, with around 95 participants, including from outside the area, enjoying their farms, ranches, and vineyards…

Tour stops in Penn Valley include what’s called a “Super Tuber Potato Farm and AM Ranch Pastured Pigs”, as well as “West Coast Equine Sports Therapy”. There is also what’s called “Heart and Soul Alpacas and Spinnery”, a barbecue lunch by the pond at the historic Miller Ranch, and a visit and tastings at the Chacewater Ponderosa Vineyards. With around 450 members in the Farm Bureau, Totoonchie says agriculture is thriving here…

Totoonchie says there will be a separate event in November to celebrate the Farm Bureau’s 100th anniversary.
