Nevada County Airport Seeks to Add Restaurant

Nevada County Airport Manager Lee Ocker has a vision to expand the Airport terminal with a second story that would include a new restaurant.

Because of the location of the Airport Ocker says a restaurant would be good for locals too.

The county has come up with some preliminary drawings and they have solicited bids from an architect to give a preliminary design, and they are working with a consultant to determine how high they can go or if they need to remain at one level and move out to accommodate the restaurant.

The funding is expected to come 95 percent from an FAA grant and the rest would come out of the Airport enterprise fund. If all goes as planned they hope to have a grand opening by August of 2016.
