Nevada County Boasts Record Number of Voters

68,829 is the actual number, according to Registrar of Voters Sandy Sjoberg. There are also more Democrats than Republicans, but only about 11-hundred out of 50-thousand. That could also be misleading because after the other parties like Libertarian, Green. And Peace and Freedom, there are 89-hundred voters listed as ‘other’, and another 13-hundred that have ‘no party preference’. Sjoberg says there is no difference between the two…

Nevada County traditionally has one of the highest voter turnout rates in the state, and Sjoberg hopes that Nevada County ends up number one this time. Also, it’s not just that registered voters turn out to vote, but most people who are eligible to register, actually do. That number is estimated at 88 percent.
