Nevada County Consolidated Hires Interim Fire Chief

The Nevada County Consolidated Fire District has hired an interim Fire Chief as they continue the search for a permanent one.  Board Chair Warren Knox says they have selected  Jerald L Johnson  who  is a retired Assistant Chief who spent his career in the West Covina, California Fire Department.

Knox says Johnson is currently self-employed as Sage Emergency Service Training and Consulting out of Gardnerville, Nevada providing training programs based on broad management experience to address clients’ most pressing issues.  Mr. Johnson will assume his responsibilities as leader of NCCFD on Monday, May 20th, at a salary of $57.69 per hour with a $156 per diem for sixty days, extendable as needed for the District to complete the identification and hiring of a permanent Fire Chief; but not to exceed 120 days.  He is being provided a District vehicle for all District business.
