Nevada County’s government now has one less emergency to deal with. County Chief Information Officer Steve Monaghan says one of those emergencies was ‘tree mortality’, or the battle against the invasive bark beetle…
But the Board of Supervisors voted this morning to end that state of emergency, and Monaghan says the bark beetle spread has slowed in this area, and also credits the Public Works department for removing most of the affected trees….
The county still has three emergencies they have declared-one from last winter’s rains where the state still hasn’t reimbursed the county for road repairs and other work. The other two emergencies are from last month’s fires.
