Nevada County beat out the Marin, Orange, and San Diego County Fairs as well as the Big Fresno Fair, for the award. The Western Fairs Association includes over 150 fairs in the Western United States and Canada. It’s the first time the Nevada County Fair has won the Merrill Award, but the W-F-A did induct former Fair C-E-O Sandy Woods into their hall of fame in 2015.
