Nevada County Food and Toy Run is Saturday

Thousands of bikers are expected to roar into Nevada County tomorrow for the 25th annual Nevada County Food and Toy Run. The parade of bikes will begin to gather at the Rood center tomorrow morning at 9 am. Event organizer Thom Staser says then they will take off on a parade of bikes at noon.

He says there will be officers holding traffic at certain intersections as the motorcycles make their way to the Fairgrounds to drop off their donations of toys and food…

The Toy run works with the Head Start program and Big Brothers Big Sisters to identify families needing some help with Christmas food and toys.

Staser says motorcycle riders bearing food and toys come from as far away as Stockton, , Southern Oregon and the California Coastal region
to participate. The first year they had 90 motorcycle riders participate and on the biggest year 1,860 motorcycle riders participated.
