Nevada County Gas Prices Sixth-Highest

Record gas prices appear to have peaked about a week ago. And Sergio Avila, with Northern California’s Triple-A, says relief at the pump should finally be ahead, with oil prices at the lowest since August. And the ongoing pandemic is also a factor.

As for prices, California continues to have the highest in the country, 75-cents higher than the second-most expensive in the state of Nevada. The statewide average is a-dollar-50 more than it was a year ago. Meanwhile, Nevada County has the sixth-highest average among the state’s 58 counties.

Avila says another major factor that should impact prices favorably is OPEC is sticking to its plan to raise production in January. The Biden Administration also recently freed up oil from the country’s emergency reserves. And worldwide gasoline demand has been down lately.
