Nearly six months since losing its permanent Public Health Officer, Nevada County has hired a replacement for Doctor Ken Cutler. Doctor Richard Johnson recently departed, after filling in on an interim basis. And now Public Information Officer Taylor Wolfe says Doctor Scott Kellerman will begin his job on New Year’s Day, with the Board of Supervisors expected to approve a one-year contract at their meeting on January 12th….
In 1987, Wolfe says Kellerman was part of a trio of doctors who purchased Miners Hospital on Zion Street in Nevada City, converting it into an outpatient facility to medically assist those less fortunate. It has subsequently grown into the Western Sierra Clinic, the largest provider of medical care in the county. He also founded the Kellerman Foundation…
In the news release, Kellerman stated that he’s especially looking forward to coordinating the vaccination campaign and ending the pandemic in 2021.
