Nevada County Housing More Homeless Veterans

Homeless veterans are getting more support in Nevada County. The county receives a limited number of vouchers from the federal government to find permanent housing for homeless vets, and now the county is getting a few more. Last year, the county counted 22 homeless veterans, and applied for and received 22 vouchers. Out of those 22 veterans, 18 were successfully housed. Because of that success rate, the county has received 14 more vouchers this year than last year, for a total of 36. Edwards credits veterans agencies and the local housing authority…

Edwards is also asking any local landlords out there to make rental properties available to house veterans under this program.
