While Governor Newsom is laying out steps to re-open businesses in what is hoped to be the near future, Nevada County’s Public Health Officer is saying “not so fast”…
In a two-minute video and a corresponding news release sent out yesterday (Wednesday), Doctor Ken Cutler says the order “requires Nevada County residents to stay at home except for essential needs such as a trip to the grocery store or essential work, and requires that people continue to maintain six feet of physical distancing when using shared outdoor spaces, for work, and activities like walking, running or biking”…
Cutler did not talk about essential businesses in the video, but in the written statement, they were defined as “healthcare operations and essential infrastructure, agriculture, those proving social safety net services, media, gas stations and auto shops, banks, hardware stores, safety and sanitation services, removing hazardous vegetation for wildfire safety, mailing and shipping, schools facilitating distance learning functions, laundromats, restaurants offering food for delivery or takeout, internet services allowing people to work from home, businesses that support essential services, and others.” Cutler also didn’t specify what he meant by “more local control”.
