No change Nevada County’s unemployment rate. It’s 5-point-3 percent for May, the same as April. But that’s also the lowest percentage since December of 2007, according to the Employment Development Department. The biggest growth sector continues to be Goods Producing, which gained 250 jobs. The EDD says the Leisure and Hospitality sector showed the biggest-percentage workforce drop of 12-percent, or 600 jobs. Karki-Pearl says some local businesses are still not very aware of the One-Stop Center….

Nevada County’s jobless rate ranks 16th among the 58 counties. It’s also over a-point better than a year ago. Looking at specific towns…it’s 6-point-4 percent for Grass Valley and 4-point-3 percent for Nevada City.
